2008 Winners with Steven Kerstein, Music Director & Conductor and Dr. Nikolaos Koutouratsas

In a continuing effort to expand its outreach to youth, each year the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra teams with the Hennings-Fischer Foundation to hold the Young Artists' Competition.

A panel of three internationally renowned musical authorities judged the instrumental competition and world-class opera coaches judged the vocal performances.

The first place winners, Rena Harms for operatic vocal and Anne Lee for orchestral instruments, were awarded honorariums and given the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra during its upcoming concert season, including the Summer Pops concert held at the Burbank Starlight Bowl.
